Justin and I totally stole inspiration from Kat's modifications to the Nerf Maverick and re-made our own yesterday. I'm happy with how mine came out. Now I just need to get braver about shooting people with it.

When it isn't cloudy the sunrises are beautiful on my way to work. Oftentimes I don't have my camera, but here is one I took on my morning commute a few weeks ago:

I am trying to teach myself how to mat photos. I have gotten some really fabulous photos from my digital camera, and I found mat board very cheap (50 cents per sheet) at a poster place that was going out of business. I've also been collecting weird and unusual frames when I have seen them on sale.

To practice, I used a piece of cardboard. If I can get a cardboard one to work I figure I can use it as a stencil to cut them out of real mat board.

I have the feeling I am doing it the hard way. I didn't cut perfectly straight but it's not bad for a first try. I think I need a T square, or the L shaped one that is not called a T square. I also need better exacto knives. I am really wishing that I did not use my box cutter to carve pumpkins two years ago. I washed it, but it is not the same.

I am attempting to balance my work and play today. It is nice to putz once in a while.
