Snowed in again
This morning I had to push approximately 18 inches of snow drift while opening the door just to get outside. Buying snow pants last week was my saving grace. We had at least 15 inches overnight, and the high drifts are around two feet. I was up to my knees when I walked to the end of the driveway.

I cleaned off my car and Justin came out and helped shovel a path, but before we were done the car was covered again, and the road had at least 4 inches of unplowed snow covering it. Since it's usually worse south of here, we stopped and headed back inside. Since then (about 4 hours ago), there's at least another 6-8 inches on everything we cleaned off. You can't tell we cleaned off all the cars in the driveway and you can barely see the path we shoveled.

I'll have to take more pictures later, but these are from this morning around 6:30am.

There was an entire drift against our door last night. I finally broke down and just shoveled out the walkway to the curb. The average dept was mid-thigh to hip deep on me...so about 2 1/2 to 3ft. The larger drifts (thankfully to the SIDE of the door/walkway I had to dig through) were over my shoulder, but not quite my full height, so I'd guess about 5ft deep.

I cleared a complete path at 9pm last night while the snow was stopped. By the time Tom and I went to bed, it was white out again and the path was filling back up.

Mostly though, I don't think we have all that much more snow since last night. At least, the wind has blown it around enough that it is no deeper than my previous estimates. All it seemed to have done was completely wipe out all the work I did yesterday.

Told Tom not to bother with the car today unless he's really ambitious. I'm not going anywhere until tomorrow anyways.

Damn...I miss cancelled classes. They were some of the best days on campus. During the ice storm, Justin, Tom, and I played the mezmorizing game from 9am THROUGH dinner...at which point we realized it was 1)Dark and 2)We were hungry. Enzo's was open, but not delivering (go figure :-p). We ended up kicking the ice off my old buick and sliding our way into town for pizza.

I could go for some pizza and the mesmerizing game...

I think you might have gotten more snow than us. Weird weather patterns. (You can keep it, though...)

My god, that's a lot of snow! Some of them are beautiful, though - I love the ones with the streetlight (at least, I assume it's a streetlight!).

Thanks! Yep, there's a streetlight, and one of them has a plow truck's headlights showing down the road a ways.
